A tale of two States, SA and NSW, over 24 hours this week. This is electricity generated over the 24 hour period. Black is coal. Green is wind. Yellow is solar. Blue is battery storage. Purple is exports to other States. Orange is gas. SA (at the bottom) was able to fill all of its overnight needs entirely with wind. It didn’t even need storage. This is the importance of windmills, and why fools like Barnaby Joyce trying to sabotage windmill projects are a threat to the nation. You can see here that SA is already entirely renewables, 24 hours a day, many days. That’s what cutting through the bullshit and just getting on with it achieves. NSW as always is way behind, bogged down in the vested interests that actually run the State.
