With the author’s surname of ‘Gross’ the immature part of me giggled at the title of the article. But on a more serious note, with continued discussion of consent and rape, also on Q&A this week, how do we understand seduction where consent is understood in brutally contractual terms, as ‘no means no’? I keep coming back to that as one of the major problems with the use of consent as a guide, as do Germaine Greer and others. Is seduction still a legitimate activity?
