I'm a fan of data, but data without good hypotheses is useless. I posted a hypothesis here about how fridges may be responsible for some of our chronic health problems, by removing the microbes we used to eat. Another theory I have links to fewer people having baths now, showers are much more popular. The origin of much disease though may be inflammation. And baths (hot or cold) are excellent to suppress and even reverse inflammation. I recently had a badly swollen foot, which I cured in a day by soaking it in hot water.
