One of the great mysteries and frustrations for planners and people who live in regional areas, is why no matter what they try, people keep moving to big cities. Big cities are getting bigger and bigger. Mega-cities. I think there's a simple explanation, and it comes back again to how we think about space. Cities and towns are no longer places, they're hubs (mega cities) and spokes (towns) in a network. They're the materialisation of our travel-culture. Airlines already know this, it's how they do their planning. Towns and cities are just inter-connection points for our constant movement, we don't really settle anywhere.
