New Disco Clubs, where women in their 40s and 50s get to pretend they’re 18 again for a few hours. Of course that’s the culture now, 18 forever. But there’s also an interesting Covid angle here. Why do some people go to a crowded mass gathering like this where nearly everybody catches Covid, and other times nobody does? Politicians want you to believe that’s because we’re getting better immunity to Covid. That’s horseshit. Covid is a pathogen that has low dispersion, meaning most people don’t spread it. But the people who do, spread it to EVERYBODY. ‘Superspreaders’. If you went to an event like this and didn’t catch Covid, it’s because there were no superspreaders there. But have just one superspreader attending, and most of the crowd will go home infected. It’s actually quite easy to control a virus that acts like this. You target places where lots of people mingle. The virus can be history in months, as it was in Australia at the beginning of the pandemic.
