Please don't understand me as some sort of men's rights activist. I have no time for any of the extremists in this debate. I'm a casuist, which is the most sophisticated method I think humans have come up with to deal with difficult questions. Case-based reasoning, as used in the law. We need to look at every case specifically, understand its context. That doesn't mean you get lost 'in the weeds' of individual detail. Cases are both individual and general, at the same time. But instead we jump immediately to hopelessly general, non-specific and context-free causes, like 'masculinity'. One of the victories of feminism was to get away from describing women with a generic 'femininity'. I'm really amazed people aren't seeing that in this rush to create masculinity as an over-arching cause. https://www.smh.com.au/national/as-a-survivor-of-sexual-abuse-i-have-a-message-for-men-starting-with-the-prime-minister-20210302-p57723.html
