Posted before about this (Australian) revolution in artificial hearts. The plan is to be able to use these indefinitely, rather than have to get a donor heart. Right now it's already giving people with heart failure an option, who are waiting for a donor heart. Very often none becomes available. (P.S. the guy in the headline is fine, they found a donor heart for him, but he coud have kept going with the artificial heart, we won't know how long until they try.)
