This is Nordlingen, in southern Germany. Over 1100 years old. (Trivia - also the city shown from the air at the end of Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.) Look how beautifully self-contained cities were before vehicles came along. Everything within walking distance, church right in the middle as the sacred heart of life, structuring everything else around it. Contrast with the sprawl around its circular walls, newer urban development with cars. No centre, no foundation. Viral, disconnected spread.
