To be blunt about the vaccines, and risk. - right now governments and experts alike are saying the risks are tiny. This is true, for nearly all of us (in fact the risks are zero for most). - but it's absolutely not true for a small number of us. Those people will die from the AZ vaccine. They likely wouldn't have died of Covid (or even contracted it, in Australia), so this is preventable death. - nobody can say yet what makes a person at risk of the clots. Instead they count up how many get clots, divide it by the total number who got that vaccine, and say that's your individual risk of getting a clot. Rubbish. If you have the biological thing that makes the vaccine give you a clot, you'll get a clot. If you don't, you won't. Until somebody figures out what that 'thing' is, it's literally a game of Russian Roulette, not each person a 'tiny risk'. - Australia has enough Pfizer already on order to vaccinate every adult in the country. That's what it should do. Politicians find that a bit slow, but that's because they have the Economy virus, and should be quarantined from the rest of us, for our safety. - the push to have fast vaccination is mostly about 'my dick is bigger than yours' in world politics. The rest of the world is a Covid basket case, worse than it's been at any stage of the pandemic. We won't be opening borders any time soon, there's no rush. The people who most need the vaccines in poorer countries can't even get any. The idiot US and UK think they can somehow end the pandemic by rushing to vaccinate their own people. Delusional and destructive half-wits, who caused most of the pandemic in the first place. - I doubt I'd accept an AZ vaccine right now. Pfizer will be available, and I don't play Russian Roulette. Appalled that medical and other experts are badgering the public to play Russian Roulette, when there are other options available.
