Saw this one being built on Grand Designs and it was a great example of why architecture never makes much headway with ordinary people. 2 years over schedule and $800,000 over budget, the owners ended up selling it (it seems because they went broke) about 6 months after they moved in. The owner was also the builder and they ran out of money 6 months into the build, thus the long delays to finish it. Neither builder or architect seemed to have a clue about how to meet a deadline or stay within a budget. And much as I enjoy the show, every disaster like this is described as a triumph. Fools and their money.
