Was in a webinar with John Skerritt this week, head of the TGA, the body that approves vaccines in Oz. A nice guy. This quote from him though shows the danger of medicalising a pandemic. "By being vaccinated, we're not only protecting ourselves but we're protecting your loved ones, especially the older and more frail loved ones in the community." This is true, but notice how the public narrative has shifted to suggest that vaccination is our way out of this pandemic? It isn't. It's a crucial part of the equation, but we desperately need to resist the political forces trying to replace a focus on virus elimination with a focus on getting jabbed. It won't work, the virus is already mutating to defeat the vaccines. We need to keep the amount of virus circulating down, globally, and that means restrictions, whether we like it or not.
