Think about the logic of this. A test paid for by government is not ‘free’ - it’s OUR money, buying a test for us. What we’ve ended up with instead is us paying twice - once in taxes, and then out of our own wallets at the chemist, for the tests. The libertarians love to say ‘it’s your money’, when they’re giving away tax cuts to the wealthy who don’t need them. But when it’s about something basic, like a Covid test in a Covid pandemic, this is a ‘freebie’. It’s suddenly THEIR money, that they refuse to give to us. Which is exactly the point. These aren’t politicians, they’re pirates. Plundering Treasury for their donors. Giving your money away to people who are already swimming in it. Over $100 billion in tax cuts to the top end of town alone, in the next few years. But you can’t have a $5 test.
