For events, what does ‘live’ mean? For example, I can see and hear more of any sporting or musical event from the comfort of my lounge room. Yes it’s not the same, but then if I were there ‘live’ I wouldn’t ever experience the huge range of views and nuanced sound available in the broadcast either. At home I see and hear more. And the bigger events get, the more half the people there are watching a screen anyway. And even ‘live’ with music, there are layers of amplification that change the sounds of what the band is ‘actually’ playing, and the band doesn’t even hear what the crowd hears etc. There is no ‘authentic’ event that is the fundamental baseline.
