Aristocrats are mocked for living privileged lives separated from basic reality. But - this is us. Our societies are the rich, privileged people on the planet. It's why social life is freaking us out right now, because suddenly our comfortable, trouble-free lives are being invaded by difficult political problems. Those problems - immigration, climate change, etc. - are telling us we're out of touch.
