The ALP is offering $150 electricity bill rebates, and the LNP 25c off every litre of fuel. It's a great example of how big the savings are by going electric. With 25c off every litre of fuel, at current prices of around $1.70 per litre, that's about 15% off your current fuel bill. If you drive 800km on a tank, that means the saving will give you about 120km for free, each time you fill up. Over the year, say you fill up every fortnight, that'll give you just over 3000 km of free motoring. With the $150 electricity rebate, I can put 1,875 kWh of energy into my EV. The EV averages about 14 kWh for every 100 km. That means I can drive about 13,500 km, on that one rebate of $150. That's a lap of Australia.
