Such an important article. Both sides of politics have become infected with purity and righteousness. And that flows into the community, the sides of debates are so righteous. My interest in all things is diplomacy, compromise. But people aren’t much interested in that, in my experience, they want the purity of their own view, and they hold it righteously. Or at best they believe there is a ‘moderate’ view everybody should believe in, which is a total fantasy. They don’t want to do the hard work of discussion and compromise.
