An interesting question - what *is* language? Is it a material thing, or not? If it’s not material, what is it? I think words are real, ‘material’ things, like chairs, or cars. Words have real physical effects, saying them alters our bodies, hearing them does too. Writing them makes our bodies move. We can make things happen by using language, asking somebody to do something for example, or writing an ad. Computer code is a type of language. Type it in and it directly changes the functioning of the machine it’s on. It drives most of our modern world. I don’t think you can find any meaningful difference between material and non-material things.
