Brilliant analysis of how we ended up in populist la-la land. Has nothing to do with Left or Right or any of that nonsense. The idea that societies are an 'economy' (a 'free market') has failed disastrously everywhere it's been tried. Rather than admit the idea is fantasy, the people who promote it blame the 'establishment', also called 'the elite'. It then progresses to vast conspiracies about how this supposed elite is blocking their efforts.
