I don't read as many books as I used to, life is short and there are too many crap books. But Will Storr's book I recommend to everybody. It might reframe how you see most of life. I'd already been studying status through my own observations, and through the works of people like Rene Girard on imitative rivalry, and Gabriel Tarde on imitation. Storr's is a more popular-focused read, a wonderful intro for anybody. Status is the engine room of all of our lives.
