Our fear of death distorts our understanding of time I think. Look at this standard definition of eternity. We use this model of time as a river which 'flows' along forever. But rivers don't flow along anything at all, the river bed and the water co-create each other. Time is just a name we give to something that changes, and we get it backwards and say that time is what causes the changes. If you flip it and focus on the changes themselves, the divide between finite and eternal is actually the divide between what changes and what doesn't change. Eternity is what doesn't change. And lots of things don't change, right here and now - you don't have to wait 'forever' for eternity.
