As a measure of just how out of 'balance' (a word dear to modern conservatives, by which they mean 'do nothing') society is, the other day one of Australia's most powerful unions negotiated a 3% per annum pay rise for its workers. And (this is the amazing bit), the head of the Reserve Bank of Australia said the pay rise wasn't enough. Everybody outside the zealots in the LNP knows that economies function when people have money. The LNP and other modern libertarians think you should give the rich lots of money, and then wait for them to pass it on to everybody else. How often does that happen - take a guess?
