The anti-social forces in our societies are extremely clever at political strategy. No matter what major issue comes along, their think tanks quickly find ways to turn them to their advantage. For example, for over 100 years now they've promoted the idea that money comes from hard work and merit. Which means if you have it, it must be because you worked hard and were smart, and no political action is needed to distribute wealth. Even many of the poor swallow that one hook, line and sinker. Now look at climate change, and Covid-19. Both of those deeply threaten established interests. What's been their quick strategic response? 'Alarmism'. People who want urgent action on these things are 'alarmists'. Again, people swallow it, because it's extremely cleverly done, they target deep psychology. People who say these things will swear to you it's their idea.
