We're not living in a time where fascism is trying to take over democracies. We're returning to humanity's most stable and long-lasting social form - feudalism. Headed by a King. Land is now only for the elite to own, just as it always was under feudalism. And the main social battle becomes the battle for inheritance, again - feudalism. Read/watch some Jane Austen or even Agatha Christie, that's what all the stories are about. This pattern cycles throughout history, over thousands of years. Caesar was a populist, he replaced the Roman Republic with rule by emperors.
