It's exciting to be there at the start, to feel the ground shake. But also worth remembering combustion race cars rev the crap out of their engines at the start because otherwise their combustion engines have zero power. My family-priced Tesla would smash the entire field off the line from a standing start, no revving needed, and would be competitive even with them revving like this. Also a friend chuckled when I suggested mixing EVs in with the V8s, 'they'd get flat batteries!'. Because EVs use only a fraction of the energy of a combustion car to get the same power, you'd get the same number of laps out of a charge and then could either swap the battery out, use a hyper-fast charger or have a second car to swap into. Will never happen because the combustion cars would be lapped so many times the drivers would object.
