When we bought a home, the kids were keen on something brand new. But I’ve always been glad we went with an older home, because it was clearly solid, otherwise it wouldn’t still be standing. Time is an excellent test. The only minor issues it’s ever had are in the newer extension the previous owners added. The statistics on the quality of new homes in Australia are appalling.
