When Tesla unveiled its Cybercab in 2024, the car with no steering wheel or pedals and vast interior room that can also accommodate wheelchairs, many were sceptical. But they're now rolling them off the production line. There's even more to this story. These cars are cheap to buy, because of the revolutionary engineering of the line Tesla has done. And while taxi-type services were the obvious first target, Tesla have confirmed ordinary people will be able to buy them as well. An ordinary person could have the car drive you to work, and then drive itself home again (rather than having to find parking). Then pick you up again after work. People will also be able to use them as Uber-type vehicles, to earn income as rideshare vehicles when not being used by the owner. Tesla is not so much inventing cars. It's inventing entirely new business models, and re-defining what driving even means.
