This research taking us further towards the functional equivalence of Covid and HIV/AIDS. It shows that Covid infects (and kills) T cells, which is what HIV does, that then leads to AIDS. It can take several years for HIV to do that (8-10). Nobody knows yet how long Covid may need to do the same thing. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41392-022-00919-x
