Here's a snapshot of everything I hate about travel. There's even a queue now to reach the summit of Everest. We turn the world into somewhere for us to have our precious 'experiences'. We see the world (literally - 'sightseeing'), rather than occupy and enrich space. We travel though it, like we're living in an illustrated map. Everest is strewn with nearly 50 fresh tonnes of garbage a year left behind by travellers, about 200 dead bodies, and so much human sewage it's made the local's water unusable.
