The Harmandir Sahib, also known as The Golden Temple. Amritsar, India. It's plated in actual gold, and is the main pilgrimage site for Sikhs. Free food is served to thousands of people here every day, and all faiths and those without faith are also welcome. I've never been there, but it struck me because it seems an example of how space itself can become meaningful, even sacred. And do we know any more how that works? Do we still have meaningful spaces?
