Evidence lurks in interesting places. We wonder how society ends up split between millions of ordinary folk and ‘elites’. In the last 30 years almost no movie that people actually went to see has won best picture at the Oscars. Prior to that it was very common for popular movies to also win best picture. This is the point I was trying to make about Bohemian Rhapsody. It’s upset the film in-crowd - the industry luvvies - because it’s not their preferred film. They need to take a long hard look at themselves I think, and decide why they started defining themselves in opposition to the general public. And stop blaming Trump for doing it. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/03/03/movies/oscars-best-picture-box-office.html
