One more aerial shot for the day. Florence. Old cities could still be high density, and even have roads of sorts, without all the problems cars cause today. Access to the near vicinity (paths) rather than access to distant locations (roads). Each 'block' folded back upon itself, around internal courtyards, a mini-community within the wider community. And then there were larger public squares. Like a fractal: community at multiple scales. And a church in the middle.
