11 December

A day for fun stats. A contrast experiment, with our 'lifestyle' lives. There are now 10 times more chickens by mass on Earth than every other bird species. One million species are at risk of extinction, and vertebrate populations have declined by 69% since 1970. The total mass of human-made materials (concrete, plastic, metal) now exceeds the biomass of all living things.
