Got home today to discover the sewer line from the house was blocked. A week now of no showering or baths has meant not enough water to flush the line out regularly. So now not only no hot showers, but no toilets either. Hopefully get it cleared tomorrow. There’s only a very small fall in the line here, but if you have no showering right now it doesn’t hurt to fill and empty the bath every few days to flush out the lines. Depends on your plumbing. The idiot who plumbed our place decades ago somehow installed the overflow relief gully outside higher than the laundry drain, so any sewer overflow or backup ends up in the laundry, rather than outside.
