Towing, something very few people do in % terms, is another anti-EV favourite. (Electric motors are much better at pulling weight than ICEs, and towing impacts range for both.) Engineers have already solved it. They add electric motors and batteries to the trailer too, as in the one shown here. The vehicle is no longer towing a dead weight, so range is unaffected. As a bonus the trailer is then fully charged (if it’s a camper trailer) to offer lighting, cooking and other comforts at the campsite, and has solar panels to recharge while there.
