Liddell was Australia's largest coal power station when it was built 52 years ago. It closed today. Last year it broke down (needed restarting) 23 times. That's an average of about once a fortnight. How's the slogan go? Affordable, reliable power? Lol. Meantime solar drove the wholesale electricity price NEGATIVE regularly in the past year. It means consumers were *paid* to use electricity. The amount solar owners will be paid to export their surplus is also about to increase by nearly 90%.
