Australia makes about $70 billion a year exporting iron ore, for other countries to turn into steel. If we created the steel here with renewable energy, and then exported it, we could turn that $70 billion easily into $700 billion. (Steel costs 10 times as much as iron ore.) The worldwide demand for ‘green steel’ will be astronomical, off the scale. Look how much steel the world uses. This is how Australia can become a superpower, and fast. Literally, super-power. Our capacity to produce renewable energy makes us the Saudi Arabia of the 21st and 22nd centuries. If we’re smart enough, and don’t listen to morons.
