This is the experience of so many people now. There’s a great silence about how sick people are, to admit to it would be to admit we know we’re full of shit. For a couple of years we pretended these endless waves of sickness were our immune systems ‘catching up’ after lockdowns. Four years later, that anti-scientific bullshit doesn’t fly any more. Plenty of people have had plenty of infections, and they’re getting worse, not better. People who barely passed Year 10 science often lecture me about wearing a mask, that I’m damaging my immune system (ffs), and that I must be a ‘germaphobe’. I have no fear of germs, or anxiety of any kind. A mask is just protection against dangerous things to breathe in. Like tradies do to avoid dust, they’re not afraid. Covid is dangerous, if you’ve been told otherwise, you’ve been lied to, and your life looks increasingly like the one the lady here describes. It will get even worse.
