Try this reality filter. These shelves are empty because the crowd already knows the future. Lockdown. The crowd knows, people really do refuse to believe that. They think the crowd is dumb. They speak of the crowd as if it’s some separate mass of people, acting stupidly. The crowd is all of us, acting together in mysterious ways, each of us knowing something and modulating it according to the realities each of us is living in each place. A percolation of wisdom.
