I unlocked my FB profile for now. Locking profiles was mostly just another thing people did, because everybody else was doing it. More imitation. Pretending it was about privacy, while sharing and even living much of their personal life on social media platforms. I’ve made some of my more recent posts previously restricted to friends public now too. There’ll be lots more that aren’t, a lot of years of posting there to wade through. I may make more of the older ones public over time, in case they’re of interest to anybody. Most of my posts will still be invisible to anybody except friends. None have ever been me speaking on behalf of an employer, they’re my personal views. Most employers probably think I’m unhinged. Friends too 😉 You only get one life, go with what’s real, not with what everybody else thinks you should think and do. If it’s popular, it’s usually bullshit.
