Both schools and universities have failed forever to understand that if you don't offer people a way to understand *and* quantify the quality of the work you do, they will do it TO you. Nature abhors a vacuum. Or as Gittins says, "Sorry guys, but more money comes at the price of greater accountability to, and scrutiny by, the mug taxpayers who cough it up."
