Circuit boards look a bit like mini-cities. I don't think that's just an analogy, they're cities for sub-atomic particles. The amazing things we do with electronics - talk to people anywhere in the world instantaneously, for example - are made possible by the spooky (Einstein's word) quantum behaviour of the particles in these mini-cities. I don't think that's seen clearly, how the magic of modern technology is largely the real magic of quantum science. The small is the secret to everything, just as with microbes, all the rules of time and space are thrown away there.
