Luck and morals, real thought-provoking topic. Three examples, and funny how we make morality something separate to the practical everyday lives we lead. I don't think it's separate at all. 2 drunk drivers, both caught. One hits a pedestrian and injures them, the other doesn't. The former will get a much more significant charge. Is that moral or fair? A 3rd drunk driver drops their keys on the way to the car and ends up getting a cab home. Are they more or less culpable than drivers 1 and 2 above? A generation buys into the property market during economic boom times, and ends up saddled with enormous debt, that mostly goes to pay the previous generation in their windfall gains. What's the morality of this situation?
