The danger of social media isn't the information (and mis- and disinformation) it shares. Societies don't run on information. They run on status and trust. The real danger of SM is that it allows idiots to connect with one another and coordinate their stupidity, to become an actual political force. 'Influencers' quickly gain more status and power than official insitutions developed over decades.
