Anyone working in local government will chuckle reading this one. All the ridiculous idealistic rubbish about ‘community’, in complete contrast with how people actually behave together. Societies are status games, not communities. All that brings them together is catastrophes - wars, plagues, natural disasters. The rest of the time they just battle for status. Christmas Lights turned into a pissing contest for status really fast, years ago. The idiot spoilers throwing eggs and beer bottles are just late to the same status game. It’s their team’s way of being visible.
