Isn’t this graph a beauty? For hundreds of years, the UK had no real ‘economic’ output at all. Then look at it explode. Same pattern in all developed countries. 1.6 trillion times as much ‘economic’ output today as for most of history. Now - hands up if your lifestyle is 1.6 trillion times better than all of those generations of humans? No? The economy is a myth.
