Surprises me sometimes that people don’t see the word ‘protest’ in ‘Protestant’. The Protestant churches are a protest movement that’s been going on for centuries. Have a look at what protest produces - directionless chaos. The Left of politics today could be seen as a protest movement against the Right. Same outcome. To protest is to adopt the framework of your opponent, without any of their unity of purpose.
