Way cooler than the Da Vinci Code. Shadows told the time with the sundial, here they create space. Geometry. The day I realised that the drawings in the maths textbook were these same shadows on a page - boom. We just don't notice that drawings and writing are actual shadows of the things of the world. Knowledge explicates (brings to light) what is implicated (black boxed - objectified). Literally, not metaphorically, to 'know' is to bring to light. To 'illuminate', another metaphor that is literal.
