Trump is the symptom, not the problem. The problem is our ideas about democracy, the attempt to erase distinctions and hierarchies between people. That forces them to fight, all day every day, to try to restore those hierarchies. A wannabe King relieves them of this effort and is felt as a tremendous weight off.
