Curious that something many attribute to a universal gender trait - toxic masculinity - at the same time as they argue gender is infinitely fluid - has such specific geographical outcomes? Similarly in NSW, DV up over 70% in Wagga, not at all in many other places. Maybe the masculinity is extra toxic there? Or maybe toxic masculinity is a load of hooey, produced by marginal university gender studies departments desperate for relevance and funding. (By the way, I think DV is very real and very serious. But I think we'd get a helluva lot further understanding it focusing on our ideas about domesticity, than hitching it to a gender war bandwagon. It's in the friggin' name, DOMESTIC violence.)
