Germany has been trialling hydrogen trains to replace diesels. All now shifting to battery-electric instead, because it’s so much cheaper. The people who back hydrogen do it for one reason only. Team sports. They’re the disappointed old fossil fuel crowd who can’t bring themselves to admit renewables are the obvious way forward. So they back a third candidate, hydrogen. It’s a dismal failure, ludicrously expensive.
